How the project was developed
This project was an initiative of the Ferbane community who realised if they didn’t do something themselves about Ferbane the town would die.Following a meeting of the Community in 2001 It was decided to contract the Tipperary Institute of Technology to coordinate development of a 5 year town plan for Ferbane. This plan which was completed following a high level of consultation with the local community was launched in 2002
Among the issues the plan identified was the need to provide employment opportunities for Ferbane which resulted in the Community & Enterprise sub-committee spearhead plans for Enterprise space in a new Business and Technology Park. The first business occupied the Business Park in 2005 set the trend for an additional 15 business setting up in Ferbane during the past 4 years
